You can only become as good as your mentors have taught you.
I don’t deny that genetics play a role in how much and how fast a person can learn. But in order for a person to learn, they need some outside material to learn from. And it is the quality of that outside material that develops the brain. I emphasize on the word outside, because one can hardly challenge himself without a spark from the outside. That outside environment is primarily the people you learn from as well as the problems you are challenged with.
So keep asking yourself: Are you learning enough? Are you being mentored by good people? Can you improve the quality of your learning environment?
